Unlock the complexities of the serger sewing machine. Learn to thread for 3 and 4 thread configurations, how to change needles, what needles to use. Explore sewing on woven and knit fabrics, rolled hemming and more. Bring to class your serger machine, power cord, foot pedal, accessories, 4 cones of maxi lock serger thread (at least two different colors is best for learning, 4 different colors is recommended).
Prerequisite: Sewing Basics class or equivalent experience.

Hello, I'm Rebecca, most of my free time as a child was spent sewing clothes for myself and others. I challenged myself with new fabrics and techniques, eventually altering patterns to better fit my body. Working in the field of alterations and dressmaking has taught me much and after discovering the joys of teaching in 1998, it would be my pleasure to teach you to make lovely things with needle and thread. |
